According to my scale, I am GAINING weight, and fast. Sure, it's only day 4, but this morning the scale showed a 4-lb GAIN.
I have had to make some substitutions - I can't eat nuts or seeds and must seriously limit my intake of beans, lentils, and peas (which removes the majority of the snack options). Instead of nuts and hummus, I ate the 2nd half of the banana as a snack and added 8 black olives (for healthy fats) and an apple (more solluble fiber) to the day. I also am making my smoothies with cold tea because I can't have almond milk. None of those substitutions should be enough to make me gain. Any ideas what could be going on?
EDIT: My scale has come to it's senses and now agrees that I lost 1.6-ish pounds during week 1, but I have decided this is NOT the diet plan for me. I did feel more mentally clear, but without any nuts or hummus (and having only 3/4 cup beans total the whole 5 days), I honestly felt under-nourished and exhausted by 3pm.
I am glad that this got me back into planning, cooking, and packing healthy meals, so I am going to keep that up, but I need to expand the amounts of grains, fruit, and protein I allow myself each day.
