In recent years they have expanded into an online presence providing basic weight tracking and planning tools.

Slim Fast has many good aspects - such as encouraging exercise, drinking plenty of water, and eating often throughout the day. Many people continue using the program for years to maintain a healthy weight.

  • 3 healthy snacks a day
  • 2 SlimFast Shakes or meal bars
  • 1 healthy meal

Yes it does. Research has shown that the program has caused sustained weight loss in overweight men and women.

Study Results

People who followed The Slim-Fast Meal Plan routinely to lose and manage their weight were, on average, 33 pounds thinner after a decade as compared to a matched group from the same community who did not participate in the study.

Pros vs Cons

Some question meal replacement programs, suggesting that a return to "normal" foods will bring about weight gain. However this is as much to do with personal habits as it does with a particular plan.

Slim Fast soup OR pasta and sauce along with salad or vegetables [they offer 6 different kinds 'hot meals']

Snack
Slim Fast frozen snack or snack bar

Dinner
A "sensible" meal of 600-700 calories (example: 4-6 ounces of poultry, lean meat, or fish, 1/2 baked potato, 3 steamed vegetables and fruit).

Dessert
Piece of fruit or low-fat air-popped popcorn

Drink plenty of water and 30 minutes exercise daily
