The 9th annual Bangladesh Festival took place on Conant Avenue in Hamtramck June 25-27, 2010. It was a celebration of a culture that has found a home in Hamtramck. An estimated 5,000 people showed up for this three-day event, with traditional and contemporary Bengali music and, naturally, a whole host of food vendors.

Hamtramck Major Karen Majewski gives her State of the City Address at the Hamtramck Public Library on June 27, 2010. She lists the accomplishments of last year (safe routes to school, Hamtramck Historical Commission landing a home, the creation of the Hamtramck master plan) but her speech turns somber as she says the city could end up in receivership by October.
